The 2nd Human Immunopeptidome Project Summer School

Description

HLA-associated peptides – has experienced a dramatic progress over the last years. Currently, MS-based immunopeptidomics pipelines allow the profiling of HLA-bound peptidomes at an unprecedented scale. Therefore, this approach has gained increasing importance in the development of personalized immunotherapy strategies and it is expected to influence the treatment of cancer and other diseases.
The major goal of the summer school is to provide attendees with critical information about the main challenges of immunopeptidomics approaches with special emphasis on sample preparation, LC-MS/MS analysis, bioinformatics and data sharing. Most importantly, this initiative will contribute to boost the accessibility to immunopeptidomics technologies and to open this scientific niche to a bigger audience.

Fostered by advances in mass spectrometry (MS) and bioinformatics, immunopeptidomics – the comprehensive characterization of HLA-associated peptides – has experienced a dramatic progress over the last years. Currently, MS-based immunopeptidomics pipelines allow the profiling of HLA-bound peptidomes at an unprecedented scale. Therefore, this approach has gained increasing importance in the development of personalized immunotherapy strategies and it is expected to influence the treatment of cancer and other diseases.
