More InformationDaily Programme Day 1 — Foundations of Health Economics & Policy Evaluation The economic logic of health systems and the frameworks used to evaluate policy. Core topics include the principles of health economics and policy evaluation, agency problems and incentive structures in healthcare, and how hospital competition and payment schemes shape outcomes. You'll leave able to frame health policy questions in rigorous economic terms.
Day 2 — Applied Econometrics for Health Policy The empirical toolkit for measuring what policies actually do. Advanced evaluation techniques including interrupted time series, panel data methods, and instrumental variables, alongside economic evaluation methods and the statistical analysis of health policy using real patient datasets. Hands-on estimation throughout, so you can move from method to result on real data.
Day 3 — Simulation: In Silico Trials, Digital Twins & Synthetic Evidence The frontier of health policy econometrics — using simulation and AI-native tools to generate evidence when trials are costly, slow, or infeasible: In silico trials and digital twins — simulating trial arms and virtual patient populations to estimate treatment effects before or alongside real-world trials Synthetic control and synthetic data generation — constructing credible comparator groups and augmenting small samples when randomized trials aren't an option Practical demo — a hands-on simulation exercise using AI-native tooling in R (with Python where it showcases the method best) |
