Detailed Description

Dirk Oschmann is a Professor of Modern German Literature at Leipzig University, President of the German Kafka Society and a best-selling author. His book Freiheit und Fremdheit: Kafkas Romane (2021) explores the question of freedom in Kafka's novels and shorter fiction. In this talk he will discuss the two different beginnings of Kafka's The Castle. The talk will be followed by an audience Q&A and drinks reception.
