The Oxford-Pittsburgh Space Medicine and Human Exploration Workshop 2026

The Oxford-Pittsburgh Workshop on Space Medicine and Human Exploration is an international, interdisciplinary meeting bringing together leading researchers, clinicians, astronauts, engineers, industry partners, and students to address the scientific and technological challenges of sustaining human life beyond Earth. Hosted by the University of Oxford in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh, the workshop will explore how spaceflight transforms human biology and how discoveries from space research can advance healthcare on Earth.

Course Description

The programme consists of 5 consecutive days of talks, workshop sessions, abstracts, and project presentations. It will provide students with a deep general understanding of the current space medicine era, as well as the opportunity to develop hands-on skills in preparing to send their own research to space.

The course fees are:

and this covers all subsistence and one conference dinner. Accommodation and travel are not covered.

• Early bird fees cancelled Between 25th August 2026 and 15th September 2026: 50% refund
• Early bird fees cancelled From 16th September 2026 onwards: No refund
