Description

Recent discoveries show that DNA and RNA modulate cellular programming not only through sequence, but also through structure-based genetic encoding, transforming our understanding of genome regulation. Noncanonical nucleic acid structures, including left-handed Z-DNA and Z-RNA, three-stranded R-loops, triplex DNA, four-stranded G-quadruplexes, and circular DNA and RNAs, are often encoded at repetitive motifs and collectively termed flipons.

Rapid methodological advances have overcome long-standing technical barriers, enabling detection of these structures in vitro and in vivo and revealing their diverse biological functions. Flipons directly influence nuclear organisation, gene expression, genome stability, and innate immunity, and their misregulation contributes to cancer and other genetic diseases.

This meeting brings together, for the first time, leading groups from previously disconnected research areas to share discoveries, technologies, and ideas, with the goal of unifying the field, accelerating progress, and inspiring the next generation of flipon researchers.

Please note the rates below, which includes access to meetings, the gala dinner and social activity, are in place until August 16th after which time £100 will be added to registration fees.
