DescriptionICAR is the official conference of the International Society for Aeolian Research (ISAR). The twelfth ICAR will take place in Swakopmund, Namibia, from 12th-18th July 2026. Conference sessions (oral and poster) are planned to take place in the Strand Hotel and the Swakopmund Museum. In association with the Gobabeb Namib Research Institute the conference will include a mid-week field visit to the stunning dunes of the hyper-arid Namib Desert. Full registration includes access to all the conference sessions, mid-week Gobabeb field trip (including transport, lunch, and refreshments), and the Friday dinner. Accommodation and other meals are not included To benefit from the reduced rates offered for students you must be a fully-registered student (undergraduate or postgraduate) at a higher education institution. Accompanying persons must be added as your guest before checkout and payment so that we receive relevant details for dinner, fieldtrips, and visas (as appropriate).
