Course Description

●    1:1 Faculty-to-Candidate Ratio: Individual attention from the examiners. Separate examiners for each station means each viva is a fresh experience, with time for dedicated feedback before continuing the circuit.
●    Intensive Format: A rigorously designed OSCE format where every station is a different technical skills station designed to simulate the cases and pacing of the MRCS examination.
●    Dedicated Technical Focus: The curriculum focuses entirely on technical skills and the associated viva questions.
●    Viva practice or Guided station, you decide: the course is run in an OSCE format as practice in a simulated examination scenario for those approaching the MRCS Part B exam. Candidates can choose whether the faculty runs any station in ‘exam conditions’, or as guided practice for those less familiar or further from the exam.
●    OSCE and lectures: following feedback from the soft-launch, we have added a series of lectures before or after the OSCE dedicated to tips and tricks for performing well in the stations
●    Tasks extracted from the MRCS syllabus including: chest drain insertion, abscess I&D, lesion excision etc.

This definitive course has been carefully designed and informed by feedback from candidates on the circuit design, viva questions, and delivery of feedback at our soft-launch in March 2026. This extended course will begin at 0830 and end about 1300, with exact timing depending on the order of the circuit you are in. The definitive course will run three times per year in the month preceding each MRCS Part B diet in February, May and October.
